Still catching lots of sandbass in 5-20 ftw using slabs. From 6-9 a.m. you can find them on flats and on ledges. Most mornings you can find them blowing up on the top in big schools. After they slow down we’ve been finding nice striper on ledges anywhere from 20-40 ftw and putting slabs down on them. Have also caught some nice striper trolling captain mack umbrella rigs. Get out on big T and rip some lips!!!
This group had fun bringing in 5 at a time! Trolling with an umbrella rig on Lake Texoma.
Fishing was good today. It’s hard to tell by this pic because I only had 1 guy fishing. We can only keep 2 long fish per person. I saw schools of striper in several different places which hasn’t happened in a while. It is nice to see them up and around like they are supposed to be.

Here’s a few recent pics from my trips over the last week or so. The top water bite is really getting good. The temps may be getting hotter but so is the fishing. If you haven’t booked your trip yet don’t wait. It’s been a great week on Beautiful Lake Texoma.

We started off catching Sand Bass and small stripers. I’ve been trying to start with those each day. If I can get them going. I haven’t been leaving them until we have enough meat in the box to take a chance on bigger stripers. We ran a lot of lake. Even found some more sand bass. Finally we got on some good stripes and caught 9 before they left us. Total on the day was 46 Sand Bass, 21 Stripers, and 2 Catfish.

Some folks from Kansas had a great time fishing on Lake Texoma today!

Group trip with Brad today. We targeted stripers and came in with a good box of fish. We pulled off of a school of big Stripers that were 30 ft thick once we caught our legal overs. No sense in catching and killing. Back to Amarillo they went. Great guys. Great laughs. Great watermelon and cheese slices. Great Sand Bass sandwiches from yesterday’s catch. Just a great day. Fat boy here would be 350lbs if every group fed me that much! Thanks fellas.

We slept in to let the showers subside and headed out about 8:00. My spots I’ve been fishing were pretty well covered up with boats so we went looking. Took us about 30-45 min to find em but when we did it was as fast as you could get it to the bottom. We had it to ourselves on a Saturday for at least two hours. Boated around 150 fish in just a few hours and had a big one get away. Called some friends over and left it to them to look for big fish but never really happened. It was a great day on Beautiful Lake Texoma.
“I’m only keeping sandbass. I’m catching a few stripers but I’m letting them go. Sandbass are biting very well and we are catching some stripers but I can only clean so many fish per day. Sandbass reproduce quickly and the lake is absolutely full of them.”
Fish were biting today . Anyone wanting to catch some good eating fish need to give us a call. 3 boats out today lots of fish caught

The sandbass fishing continues to be on fire. We’ve been catching them in 5-25ft on live bait and slabs. The big fish are showing back up and can be on fire at times. We’ve been catching them in 30-70ft on live bait. Come on out and get on some of this great fishing while it last!!

The bite on Texoma is back on and it’s action packed fishing. Boated over 150 fish today and kept a limit of sandbass. Catching quite a few stripers but letting them go to get bigger. It was another great day on Lake Texoma.

250 fish day with some mondo sand bass. Kept a limit of sand bass and released the stripers to fight another day. Caught about 30 stripers up to 15 inches. My guys were between the ages of 67-87 and the 87 year old was a two time Purple Heart recipient. I am honored to have had him in my boat and super happy to see Texoma is rebounding and fish are biting again. I’ll be doing trips on both lakes for a while but there’s no place like home. It was a great day on beautiful Lake Texoma
Still waiting for the skylights to quit. This stormy weather has fired the fish up lately. Today shouldn’t be an exception. And then…….
166 Sand Bass, 21 Striper later. I got finished up. The storms kept us pinned up until after 9. After that. It was game on. Live bait 15ft of water. We even had a Hybrid Striper come to the dock today.
Crosswinds Guide Service | 5-22-2016
Another 100+ fish day. I’ve been fishing hard lately and pulling no punches. No sitting in 1 spot and waiting for the bell to ring. Today we pulled off of 3 different schools of fish that were coming in as fast as we could go. We drifted structure, drifted deep water, and anchored on edges. Fish were caught doing it all. We ended up with some nice 21 inch stripers and SO many Sand Bass to go with it. Phil and I filleted 204 fish today. About an 80/20 mix of Sand Bass to Stripers. I’m starting to see a few bigger fish show back up from the rivers. Hopefully it will continue.
Editors note: May 10, 2016 – In case you are wondering why there haven’t been many reports in the past few weeks, the guides are telling me that the “catching” part of fishing on Lake Texoma is a littly ify right now. As the lake continues to drop it will get better. Check with your favorite guide before you book your trip, the fishing part is still fun just want to make sure your trip to Lake Texoma will meet your expectations. Corps of Engineers boat ramps are mostly closed but Marina boat ramps are still open.
Our very own, Zach Langford, caught a near record-setting sand bass right here at Flowing Wells. The current lake record set in 1994 was 3.41 pounds. Zach’s weighed in at 3.35

Some of my faves today. We set out to jug some blues and that’s exactly what we did. We tried for stripers for a while but no luck. Great March day. Great folks. 5 gallons of blue cat fillets.
Josh Metcalf recently caught this 60 pound blue catfish on Lake Texoma.
Crosswinds Guide Service | March 5, 2016
We fished hard today. Real hard. Burned 30 gallons of fuel and pulled no punches. All for 2 sand bass. Luckily we had some success on blue kitties on the juglines. Biggest of the day went 31 pounds. They were a fun crew and the weather was phenomenal.
