Perrin Air Force Base Historical Museum is open Tuesday thru Saturday 10 to 4 p.m.

The Perrin Air Force Base Museum is located at the North Texas Regional Airport – Perrin Field. The Perrin Field Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of Perrin Army Airfield and Perrin Air Force Base in Grayson County Texas.  The base was in operation from 1941 to 1971 and trained tens of thousands of US and Allies pilots and crews.  The Museum collects, preserves, and displays key artifacts from historical American military events.  The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.  There is a LOT to see so plan enough time for your visit to take it all in!

Perrin Field at one time had troop strength of 4,000.  It was used as a training facility for pilots, technicians and mechanics It was also Home to two hundred German POW’s while they worked on the Denison Dam. It was closed in 1946 and reopened in 1952 as Perrin Air Force Base.     On display are photos & exhibits featuring Base construction & daily life of Perrin Field from inception in 1941 through closing in 1971 as well as gear used by pilots from early aviation through the jet age.
