The museum’s collection centers around material from the Maynard Ferguson estate, which the Collins family purchased in 2006.
Housed in an authentic turn of the century home, the museum is accurately filled with period furniture, memorabilia, photos, an old school room and lots of local history.
In 1884 the building in which the Morton Museum is housed was a combination city hall, fire station and jail and contains a partial 187’s log cabin. Exhibits cover topics such as the Civil War, baseball, outlaws, World War II and the county’s sesquicentennial. A staff person is available, by appointment, to aid individuals in genealogy research.
