Choose Joy Color Run 5K and Fun Run in Memory of Coach Bart Williams
The #ChooseJoy Color Run began in memory of beloved coach/teacher, Bart Williams. Coach Williams was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in December of 2017. Throughout his battle with cancer, he showed courage, grit, determination to live, and unwavering faith. Even on his hard days, with his portable chemo treatment, he showed up for his students, athletes, and family. Throughout his year-long battle, Coach Williams always had joy in his heart, and he made it his mission to share that joy with others. In December of 2018 he finished his race with cancer and went to be with the Lord. He left behind a legacy of allowing his faith in God to help him choose joy every day. All proceeds from this race go towards Choose Joy scholarships benefitting Pottsboro High School seniors.
