Wildlife Habitat Cleanup for Families
07/28/2018 @ 8:00 AM - 10:00 AMFree
Spend the morning with your children improving the wildlife habitats along the hiking trails at Hagerman NWR by removing refuse. Cans, bottles, fishing line and other debris along the hiking trails pose a great threat to birds and other wildlife. This is a great opportunity to instill in your kids a sense of community, environmental responsibility and nature conservation all while helping to raise money to support the mission of the Friends of Hagerman. Walt Disney World will donate tickets to the Friends of Hagerman to support their charity: the more workers, the more Disney tickets donated—and they will be up for grabs at the Annual High On The Hawg BBQ and Silent Auction on November 3rd!
Fill your car with young habitat repairmen and meet at the Visitor’s Center. We will partner with the refuge’s Outdoor work crew and form teams to pick up litter along Harris Creek Trail. Children and grandchildren are welcome. Wear long pants, long sleeves, closed toed shoes, hat, sunglasses, and bring a reusable water bottle. Bug spray, sunscreen, trash bags, and cold water provided.
