Choctaw-Irish Friendship Fest – Durant
To celebrate our bond with our friends across the sea, the Choctaw Cultural Center invites you to the Choctaw-Irish Friendship Fest on March 16th, 10:30AM – 4:00PM!
In 1847, the Choctaw people heard of the potato famine in Ireland and raised $174 to help the Irish. That single act of selfless generosity sparked an unlikely friendship between the Choctaw Nation and Ireland.
Join us on March 16, 2024, as we celebrate our continuing bond with the Choctaw-Irish Friendship Fest.
There are activities for the whole family including an art market, special presentations, Choctaw and Irish cultural demonstrations, children’s activities, and much more!
