St. Patty’s Day Downtown Sherman Parade
It’s time to get your green on! The Downtown Sherman St. Patrick’s Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 200 p.m. Get your family, friends, nonprofit organization, church, school, business, whatever together and walk, march, dance, roller skate, drive, ride, perform through the streets of Downtown Sherman. It is a great way to let folks know what you do, promote your business, and just plain have a GREAT TIME! Whether you’re in the parade or watching, it’s a St. Patrick’s Party!
This is a family friendly event, but if you can imagine it, we are open to it – we’ve had an umbrella troupe, a riding lawn mower group, the Sherman Roller Derby, floats, bands, pipers,dancers, dog walkers, horse riders, etc. You could decorate tricycles/bicycles and ride! The idea is for all to have fun!
The parade route begins in the parking lot of the Central Christian Church on S. Travis Street (across from First Baptist) and proceeds north on Travis, west on Wall Street, then south on Crockett.
There is an awards ceremony at Old Iron Post after the parade with awards in multiple categories – best performance group, best float, funniest costumes, the list hasn’t been completely decided yet. Watch this space for more information.
There is no charge to be a part of this fun event. Just scan the QR code found in Discussion to go to a fillable form that comes to Old Iron Post when you submit.
