Texoma Earth Day Festival

18th Annual Texoma Earth Day Festival
The 18th annual Texoma Earth Day Festival will be held on April 18, 2026 at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom and Lucy Kidd-Key Park from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Registration is open to vendors and sponsors. This year’s theme is “Planet vs Plastic.”
The Texoma Earth Day is a fun, family friendly annual event held every spring in Sherman, Texas. The festival offers a wide variety of activities and learning opportunities for all ages and areas of interest. Children’s activities focus on hands on experiences making things from recycled materials, nature crafts and planting. Workshops for adults can include topics such as bee keeping, creating monarch way stations, and learning about the natural world around us. Children’s activities and workshops are often provided by nonprofit organizations as a way to attract interest to their organizations. In addition to activities, parents can shop the free clothing swap while their kids are busy with activities. Vendors at the festival sell products that help us reduce our impact on the environment, handmade body products, jewelry and art. Non-profit vendors are invited to register for booths to give information about their organizations and highlight their own events and fundraising efforts. Entertainment is usually provided by local musicians, including performances by children’s choruses and bands. One of the highlights of the entertainment is always the Trashion Fashion show sponsored by Grayson College.
Workshops run all day and can cover topics like bee keeping, composting, health concerns of microplastics and PFAS, and more.
The festival also offers a wide variety of recycling opportunities each year. Included are a drug take back event sponsored by the Sherman Police, electronic waste recycling sponsored by Keystone Enterprises, Textile recycling sponsored by American Textile Recycling Services, and paper shredding sponsored by First United Bank. The City of Sherman sponsors general recycling and provides containers for paper, plastics (including plastic bags, bubble wrap and shrink wrap), aluminum and tin, Styrofoam, and cardboard. Cars will line up and drive through N Elm Street to drop off their recycling. Habitat for The Humanity’s ReStore truck can accept donations of furniture and household items that are in good condition, or they can schedule a pick up at area homes and businesses. Some of the vendors on the lawn will also provide recycling opportunities – the local Lions clubs will accept eye glasses, cell phones and computers. Holmes Family Rustic Kitchen accepts canning jars.
The Texoma Earth Day Festival is free to attend and charges no parking fees. More information can be found on the festival website www.earthdaytexoma.org.
