Sherman Community Players – Sherman Texas
Since the Little Theatre Movement in the 1920’s, the Sherman Community Players (SCP) has been presenting fine theatrical productions to the North Texas and Southern Oklahoma region. Incorporated in 1950 as a professionally directed, non-profit 501 (c)(3), community theatre, SCP has continued to garner state-wide attention for its quality season productions, children’s theatre, and educational outreach programs.
Sherman Community Players is an all volunteer community theatre group that puts on 5 performances, a dinner theatre fundraiser and several special events each year at the Finley Theater in downtown Sherman Texas. Each year the theatre group just gets better and better under the direction of Anthony Nelson.
In 1970 the SCP Theater Guild was established. Membership is open to men, women and teenagers eager to be an active and congenial part of this exciting creative opportunity. SCP theater Guild provides the necessary organization to utilize the talents and time a volunteer can give. Sherman Community Players is alive and well today thanks to the countless volunteers who have contributes thousands of hours to energize Sherman Community Players during the past forty years.
