Toy and Action Figure Museum- The Coolest Thing Since Batman!
The Toy & Action Figure Museum opened up its 6,000 square foot building in 2005 and has since been recognized as one of Time Magazine’s “Top 50 Most Authentic American Experiences.” The world’s first museum devoted to the art and sculpting of action figures. Kids can enjoy the fun and colorful displays, while adults get a nostalgic experience of their childhood memories. There are also interactive areas to play and dress up, and exhibits on the creation of action figures.
The Oklahoma Cartoonists Collection at the Toy and Action Figure Museum features published artists and writers from Oklahoma, who were involved with popular characters such as Dick Tracy. Started by local artist and toy designer, Kevin Stark, he has collected over 12,000 classic pop culture figures from all the way back to the first articulated toys of the late 50s, to today’s current action figures. Thousands of action figures cover every inch of the “Collector’s Bedroom” diorama that has toys added to it every week. Each time you visit the museum, there’s always something new!
