The Whitewright Historical Museum is open Tuesday thru Friday 1-3 pm Saturday by appointment
Housed in an authentic turn of the century home, the museum is accurately filled with period furniture, memorabilia, photos, an old school room and lots of local history. You’ll learn about the old MKT railroad tracks that run just down the road. Still used by an independent railroad today, these tracks intersected here with the old Cotton Belt Line, and once brought cattle, grain and people into Whitewright. This became home to the determined, hard-working folks who tamed the prairie and laid the foundations for who we are today.
