The Sherman Jazz Museum is open Saturdays 1 to 5 p.m.
The museum is on the corner of Lamar and Walnut, on the east side of the main city square, housed in a 1924 three-story historical landmark building, is ADA exempt and is not wheelchair accessible.
The Jazz Museum is a non-profit museum dedicated to the education and preservation of Jazz.
The museum’s collection centers around material from the Maynard Ferguson estate, which the Collins family purchased in 2006. Collins has donated all of the material to the museum, a 501c not for profit organization. The museum is also home to the Roy Eldridge Estate
The museum has gradually acquired more and more material over the years becoming one of the largest collections of jazz memorabilia around.
