Chico’s in Rockwall partners with Charles Schwab & Co. -Greenville Independent Branch and Children’s Museum

After a summer that included over 7,500 visitors to the Children’s Museum, September will be a month of fundraisers for the local tourist attraction. The children are back in school, and major fundraisers will be the focus for the Children’s Museum.

Whether your interest is ladies’ fashions, a return on your donation, or a new car, the Children’s Museum has a fundraiser for you!

An exciting new fundraiser will be a Chico’s Style Show and Luncheon on September 14 from 12:00 to 1:30 at First Baptist Church in Commerce.  The fundraiser is sponsored by Charles Schwab & Co., – Greenville Independent Branch and Chico’s in Rockwall is coordinating the event.  “I have brought my grandson to the Children’s Museum for many years.  We just wanted to give something back,” said Millie Cundy from the Chico’s in Rockwall. Music for the style show will be provided by Marinell Turnage of Dallas; lunch will be provided by Webb Hill Country Club. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by calling the Northeast Texas Children’s Museum at 903-886-6055.  Models include Jency Holbert, Brenda Estes, Leslie Killgore, Sarah Alderman, Mary Hendrix, Janet Peek, Gloria Matthews, Bonnie Hunter, Bethany Farmer, Enola Gay, Alicia Wittkof, and Kelsi Mahan.  Servers for the event are Wyman Williams, Gary Rusch, Darrek Ferrell, Charlie Alderman, Sam Walker, John Weatherford, and Gil Naizer.

North Texas Giving Day will be September 20, and it will be the fourth year for participation by the Northeast Texas Children’s Museum.  The day is an online giving event sponsored by the Communities Foundation of Texas.  Last year Communities Foundation of Texas added 2.85% to each donor’s gift. Although online giving begins at 6:00 AM on September 20, donors can bring donations to the Children’s Museum throughout the week.  Online giving donors may go to NorthTexasGivingDay.org. Amounts begin at $25.

So how would you like to win a new car?  Thanks to Britain Chevrolet in Greenville, the Children’s Museum is one of several non-profits participating in a chance for a new car.  Chance tickets are $2.00 and the drawing for the winner will be on December 17, 2018.  Money from the chance tickets are a donation to the Children’s Museum; Britain Chevrolet gets the publicity, and someone wins a new car. Chance tickets are now available at the Children’s Museum; chances will also be available at the Bois d’arc Bash. “I will be at the Bois d’Arc Bash with chances to win a car.  It would be so exciting if someone who got their chance from the Children’s Museum was the winner of the new Chevy Cruze,” said Leslie Killgore.  The winner will have the opportunity to pay for an upgrade on the car.

“We hope our supporters will participate at some level to help the Children’s Museum move into a stable future.  From a $2 chance on a car to a $35 ticket for the Chico’s Style Show to a larger donation on North Texas Giving Day, we need your participation,” said Sharline Freeman, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum. Call the Children’s Museum at 903-886-6055 with any questions concerning the September fundraisers.
