Leonard Park in Gainesville Texas
Leonard Park is a community park with four lighted baseball and four lighted softball fields for league play. The park also features the Frank Buck Zoo and the Aquatic Center/Water Park. It features 30 acres of land that can be used for recreation purposes on both large-scale events such as during summer festivals or family reunions to more intimate gatherings like weddings or birthday parties.
In the park there are 72 wooden picnic tables, 1 cement picnic table, 6 grills, and 3 smokers. A large pavilion is available to rent on the weekends. Kids can play on a plastic tot playground or explore a large wooden playground sturcture of about 5,000 square feet. The park also has public restrooms, a stage and water fountains.
Leonard Park has a miniature steam engine train that traverses the park’s grounds. The train track has a length of about 1 mile.
The Leonard Park Aquatic Center is a 2,000,000 gallon facility with an 18 foot high water slide, drop slide, diving board, 8 foot rock climbing wall, a shaded Cabana with picnic tables and sun bathing deck with loungers. Swimming lessons, water aerobics, baby swimming activities and is available for private party rental.
