GADEK TO RETIRE FROM SEDCO

(SHERMAN, Texas) – June 14, 2018

After 23 years of service and dedication to the Sherman Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), Executive Vice President Frank E. Gadek, CEcD, is set to retire on Friday, June 15. Gadek’s economic development career began at the City of Sherman in 1995, and in 1996, he became a
founding member of SEDCO. During his tenure, Gadek played a crucial role in attracting new industry and jobs to Sherman and helping our corporate citizens expand their operations. Some of these projects included ActiTech, Alpla, Ball DPF, CertainTeed, Consolidated Container Company, Eaton B-Line, Finisar, GlobiTech, J.P. Hart Lumber Company, Panda Sherman Power, Presco, Progress Rail Services, MEMC, Royal Case, Starr Aircraft, Sunny Delight and Tyson. “The past 23 years have been a unique and rewarding business experience,” said Gadek. “I am grateful to the City of Sherman and SEDCO for the opportunity to participate in Sherman’s economic and job growth and for supporting numerous economic development projects since SEDCO’s inception. Today, SEDCO is a mature, professional and highly respected organization that successfully competes nationally
and internationally.”

Prior to SEDCO, Gadek enjoyed a 24-year career in telephony with ConTel/GTE/Verizon. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Illinois University, a Texas Real Estate Sales License and a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). He is an active member of IEDC, Texas Economic Development Council, Industrial Asset Management Council, Rotary International, and serves on the Center for Workplace Learning Advisory Committee, Child & Family Guidance Center of Texoma Board and the Texoma Workforce Development Board. Gadek said he is looking forward to spending more time with his three children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

“Frank has been a team player from SEDCO’s infancy to the successful corporation it is today,” said SEDCO Chairman John Sild. “His commitment to excellence has left a lasting impression on Sherman, Texas.”

A farewell reception will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at Grayson Hall, 115 S. Travis St. All family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers are welcome to attend. Recruitment firm, Strategic Government Resources will start interviewing Sherman community leaders on Monday, June 18 as part of their process to fill the SEDCO President position.
